last post evers

favorite piece this year: that one, of me. thats green. and black and white.

favorite event: probably the jesse reno work shop. i don't think anything else we did this year was as inspirational as that. seeing all his work and where he comes from, pushes me to become a better artist. when i see people like that jus doing art all day every day. it jus makes me want to create even more. lumberjack day was really fun to. axe throwing was sick. and it was a nice wrap up to the year. I thought that all of the events we did were worthwhile, and im sure any more would be worthwhile also.

what i learned about myself as an artist: that i was overthinking it. its simpler than i thought. i can't really explain it. but i get it. so . also. that. i know i can be a great artist with enough effort put into it. and. yis

what i see myself doing in ten years: making art. riding bikes. hopefully have a new skill/hobby. new friends. living somewhere new. hopefully im happy. hopefully i won't be wasting my time.

advise: actually spend time on your art. theres no point in doing it if your jus gonna do it crappy. go to class. your only in highschool for a little. soak it up. you have the rest of your life to not be in high school. be there as much as you can, so you can remember it. its not that bad

poem or whatevs: my lifes better without you actually.

stepyogameup

sorry for the dark picture
SO. i applied to college. one college. lets hope i get in. but now i don't really have that much to do, which im excited about. cause now i can focus on my art! yeaaahahhahsd. i feel like i could put in even more effort to my art, which should be fun, im excited for it. so yeah. i worked on this drawing. but i only worked on it close up, and iddn't see it far away. it looks lame far away. all the details are close up... so for my concentration. im doing the deformities of people. karen and lots of others really liked my owl piece. and i agree. i really like that direction. combines a lot of strongpoints i have i think. so i think im gonna try and do more of the with drawings and such for my concentration. should be gooood!

OH. and i started writing these stupid/ funny poems, that people seem to like. and i think im gonna write like 10 or so and do illustrations with them and hand make a book! just a side project.

I feel like i lost my drive for art the past month or two. really was focusing on biking. but now that i have 2 classes in school, and already applied for college. i find myself reaaaaaaally wanting to make art. which is good! im stokeddd

so. watch out. steppin my game up.

Concentration Stuff

So. as of now my concentration is: The deformations of people. It wasn't so much when i made these. but i still think they turned out cool. The first one is an owl. I started by drawin it with pencil then cutting it out of cardboard. I used fat paint markers to draw the owl on the carboard. Then i filled it in with paint and colored pencil and stuff. I am pleased with this one turned out. It started out as a fun experiment, now its something i actually like. I like how it turned out different than most of the other stuff i do, since they are usually of people. I enjoy the layers and the different colors. It also has a patriotic theme to it. On the upper left part of it it says "america" i dont'r eally know why. But its all painted red white and blue mostly. I thought itwas funny. I guess you can't really tell. it mostly looks white. whatever. Even though its a cut out, i feel it still has compostion and stuff inside it. I thoughtfully placed everything i did in it and i think it payed off.
Now the second one was a stencil i made. I did the drawing in my psychology class. I though it was a funny little doodle and wanted to make it way bigger, and a stencil. I got a big peice of paper. and drew it on it. then cut it out like a stencil. I wanted to make the mouth really dark, to make some contrast. So the whole thing wouldn't be a bunch of skinny outlines. I think the stencil turned out real nice, but it doesn't look as good on a canvas. It would look much better on a wall. I added a fade in the colors. It slighly fades from pink to purple. I thought that turned out nice and made the whole thing a little mor interesting. I also was very pleased with how much it ended up looking like a print, i really like that. Recently i have had a fasination with prints. I really like how they look. Overall i think this turned out alright, but it would look better with a more interesting paint job and on a wall somwhere
